There are lots of great choices for winter containers. I've blogged about my love of pansies in this post. Pansies are one of the most reliable ways to add color to containers and beds during the winter. They are hardy and bounce back from freezes.
Mix pansies and violas (pansy-like but smaller) with flowering cabbage and kale, dusty miller, cyclamen, ivy and ornamental grasses for a pot filled with color and texture.
I'm a lover of succulents as this post attests, and succulents can make an impact in containers in winter too. Just bring them in before a hard freeze.
Take advantage of these cool days and cooler evenings to get your containers planted and ready for winter.
